Minimalism is about you life. (not just about your closet)
Today's blog post is the FINAL post of the minimalist game! I am so excited about that. Warning: Today's assortment of decluttered goodies is so random. Without further ado, here we go. :)
 Day 21:
1-21. A random assortment of Seventeen and Glamour magazines along with samples and coupons I do not want anymore.
 Day 22:
1-15. The basket (which I am finally getting rid of ) contains an assortment of ribbons, headbands, and one dog tag chain.
16-18. A stylus and a few random pens that ran out of ink.
19-22. Jewelry: These are either broken or singular earrings.
 Day 23:
1-18. A random assortment of old school papers, receipts, and makeup booklets that come with products.
19-23. 5 Glow Sticks - They were bought for a chemistry experiment, and I didn't end up needing them.
 Day 24:
1-13. A random assortment of shirts, tank tops, dance clothing, shoes, and other clothing items that I haven't really reached for.
14-17. The 4 little plastic tubes are connectors for glow sticks.
18-21. More random earrings that have somehow been separated from the other ones...
22-23.2 Chuck-E-Cheese coins that I have no idea why I still have
24. I somehow miscounted and added 2 more random sheets of paper to this decluttering pile so I guess now I technically have 2 Day 25's.
 Day 25:
1-3. art books/ paper
4. random lonely sock
5. ink pen that's out of ink
6. sweatshirt string from a sweatshirt (I hate these by the way.)
7. old headphones
8. earrings
9-13. old iPod Touch accessories
14. screen protectors
15-16. contact solution/ empty contact lens box
17. old medicine
18. old bracelet
19. rubber band from a package
20-25. plastic grocery bags
 Days 26/27: (53 items)
1-43. receipts - I literally have NO idea how I collect so many receipts.
44-53. Nintendo GameCube Games - I decluttered the controller on day 10, so why not get rid of the games right?
 Day 28:
1-27. 27 plastic grocery/ clothing store bags - we normally reuse the grocery ones from groceries, but we have way too many.
28. Nintendo GameCube Game carrying case
 Days 29/30: 59 items
1-38. makeup items that are being decluttered / the Ulta box they are in
39. peach ball
40-44. random keychains / lanyard
45. random video game
46-54. shoe box filled with old school planners and papers (The name of the school was on them, so they are not being shown.)
55-59. folder with yet more school papers that once again have the school name on them
Day 31:
1. black flats - (I had these for almost 6 years and now they are falling apart, so they are being replaced)
2-31. a random assortment of papers - (You never notice how many papers you use in a school year until you go through them. Oh, and there is a lovely makeup picture on top so my information is not given away.)

Woooooo, the minimalist game is finally done! 497 items have been decluttered. I'm so excited to finally be able to announce that :) Before I end this blog post, I'll leave y'all with some things that I learned during this challenge.

1. It's super easy to not realize how many things you actually have. Before this challenge ended, I didn't believe that I would own almost 500 things that I would actually deem unecessary to have.
2. If you have to continuously try to convince yourself that you need something, you don't need it.
3. If you're a college student, you don't have to keep every single essay you turn in on paper AFTER the school year is over. If you still want to keep it, save it to a USB drive on online hard drive and put the grade received and teacher comments . Do not do this before final grades are posted.
4. I should really opt for eReceipts when I can... I had no idea I accumulated so many receipts.
5.It's surprisingly refreshing to not own so many things. You don't have to fill all of the storage space that you have. We live in such a materialistic world that it's easy to feel like we need so many things. Truth is, you don't.

Thanks for sticking with this through this series. I'll talk to y'all soon in a different blog post!:)

(If you watch beauty videos on YouTube, then you know empties are common.)
1. Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops- These had a strong lavender scent that I wasn't fond of.
2. Moleskin Padding- These are great to put in the heels of shoes that hurt your heels.
3-4. Cotton Balls/ Cotton Rounds- I use these for nail care and skin care.
5. Moonlight Path Body Lotion- Love this! Already repurchased.
6. Equate Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Wipes- Holy grail!
7. Avon Skin So Soft Hand Cream- Loved this. Possible repurchase.
8. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat- Dries nails quickly. I'm not sure if I'll repurchase this time.

10. Forever Sunshine Triple Moisture Body Cream- My favorite scent from B&BW. Already repurchased.
11. Ampro Styling Gel- I literally never use gel anymore. I saw this in my cabinet and finished it just to finish it.
12. Isoplus Hair Spray- This made my hair crunchy. Won't repurchase.
Day 13: The randomness continues.
1-12. Random Receipts- These either came from my wallet or I was holding onto them because I bought a lot of  gifts recently.
13. Church Program- Believe it or not, there is a random church program hidden under this hoopla of receipts.

Day 14: More randomness.
1-11. Dog tags- Yeah, I just don't want to hold onto these anymore.
12-14. Headbands- I never wear these anymore.

Day 15:
1-13. Random Papers

Day 16:
1-11. T-Shirts: I don't wear these anymore.
12-16. Basketball Shorts: I was a basketball player. I don't play too much anymore. I kept some pairs, but I got rid of the ones I don't really like.

Day 17:
1-9. Packaging- I just filmed a haul video from Ulta yesterday. These are the remnants of the packaging of the box that arrived not too long ago.
10-12. 3 Index Cards- I don't need the info on these anymore.
13-16. Bracelets- I don't wear these.
17. Camera Case- My current camera doesn't fit in here.

Day 18: A random collection of clothes.
1-4. Belts- I don't wear these.
5-18. Clothing- I pulled most of these from my closet. I literally couldn't remember the last time I wore them, so I don't need them anymore.

Day 19:
1-15. Jewelry- Some of these pieces either recently broke or I found other jewelry pieces that I like better.
16-19. More Receipts- I always seem to have 10 million receipts. :/

Day 20 (Finally!):

3. Seventeen Fragrance Guide- I'm not really a perfume person anyway.
4-5. Old Cards

8-9. Eyeglass Cases- These don't fit my current glasses.
10-11. Headphone Case/ Headphones- I don't need this case. These headphones broke :/
12. Pink Necklace- I haven't worn this in years.

15-16. Necklaces- I haven't worn these in years.
17. Sunglasses- I never wear these.
18. Pink shoelaces- I never put these in my shoes. I've had these for about 7 years too...
19-20. Earrings- I really don't like these earrings. Therefore, I haven't touched them in years.

Woooo! We're finally done with decluttering up to day 20! Days 21-31 will surely be difficult and a headache... Happy decluttering!

Lately, I've been feeling as if I own way too much stuff. I decided to undergo the minimalist game. After completing this challenge,...

Lately, I've been feeling as if I own way too much stuff. I decided to undergo the minimalist game. After completing this challenge, I will have gotten rid of a total of 496 things. I'm excited! :)

Day 1:
1. Suave Naturals Dry Shampoo
This leaves a white cast in my hair. I'm not too fond of the scent either.
 Day 2:
1. Dailies Total 1 Contact Lenses
These literally stuck to my eye so hard that I would make my eye turn red trying to remove them. It took at least 10 minutes to remove these. :/
2. 1 Day Acuvue Moist Brand Contact Lenses
I love these contacts. These just aren't my prescription anymore.
 Day 3:
1. Sweet Pea Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray
2. Wild Honeysuckle Body Splash
3. Sweet Pea Anti-Bacterial Hand Cream

I'm not too fond of these scents and haven't worn them in forever.
 Day 4:
1. Vidal Sassons Straightener
I have a different straightener that I use more.
2. Purple Flower Hair Clip
I never wear this anymore.
3. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream Sample
It was too light for me + it expired.
4. Biofreeze
I have knee problems so I used to keep this around for that, but this one expired.

Day 5:
1-5. 5 Scented Hand Sanitizers
I much prefer hand sanitizers without a scent. I haven't used these in years.

Day 6:
1-3. 3 Magazines
These are from awhile ago, and I don't need them just sitting around.
4. Birthday Card
I believe this was from middle school. Yeah,I'm in college now.
5. Gena Pedi Cure Creme
This was an excellent moisturizer for pedicures, but this is getting old and starting to separate.
6. Hawaiian Tropic SPF 50+ Sunscreen
I didn't really like the scent of this.

Day 7:
1-6. Random Assortment of Body Products
These were gifted to me, and I wasn't too fond of the scent.
7. Target Tin
At one point, all of my makeup brushes used to fit in this. I now have 2 tins, and I couldn't find one to match this one. Plus, it's bent.

Day 8:
1-6. Headbands
I kept the few headbands that I wear more than others. These had to go.
7-8. Kiss Impress Stick-On Nails
I used the ones out of these 2 packages that actually fit my nails. I'm getting rid of the rest.

Day 9:
1. Binder
I really don't need this or the papers inside of it anymore.
2-6. Seventeen Magazines
I have so many of these. I don't need them anymore. I've actually read all of these.
7. Office Depot Flyer
Um, I'm not even sure why I still have this. It was with the stack of magazines.
8. iPhone 5 Charger Cord
This one doesn't work anymore. :/
9. Wall Charger Plug-In
I bought this one, and it didn't work :/

 Day 10:
1. Wallet
The card slots were starting to tear on this one so I replaced it.
2. Game Cube Controller
I remember selling the console with the original controller. They didn't need a second controller. Neither do I.
3. Pink iHome Remote
I don't even own the iHome anymore...
4. Tiny Spaceship
This was just something that was left in my car when I gave a kid a ride. I tried to return it. They didn't want it.
5. Aeropostale Ad
I haven't shopped there in years.
6. Volleyball Duck
I got this wen I used to play volleyball. It has block on the back of it, because I had the most blocks on the team.
7-10. Socks
I don't wear these. Random fact: I actually hate wearing socks. I mostly wear them with boots in the winter, and I have pretty/ fuzzy socks for that. I also wear socks when I go to the gym, but I have Nike and other performance socks for those trips.

There are days 1-10. I was originally doing this challenge/game on Instagram, but I decided to move it to my blog for a couple of reasons. 1. I didn't want to flood my Instagram feed. 2. It's easier for me to dedicate like an hour on 1 day to take these pictures/explain why I'm getting rid of them.

Hey there. Since I recently redesigned this blog, I decided to relaunch it with new content. I relaunched this blog because the school year is coming back up and I'm a college student with a new part-time job (that I'm really excited about!) so if I can't film a lot. Ideally, I'd be posting a lot here. Anyways, it's time to go ahead and share my everyday makeup staples with you guys. :)

-NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer (Medium): I've been loving this concealer lately. I apply it with a brush that is a dupe for a Sigma P80. It's essentially a small stipple brush for concealer. I love this product especially during the summer time. Normally, I tend to skip concealer and just go for a higher coverage foundation. However, since I live in the south (and it's crazy hot), I've been opting for a fuller coverage concealer and light coverage foundation. I apply this in triangles under my eyes and on any acne scarring I may have then blend it in a sponge similar to a Beauty Blender. This concealer does not match me perfectly. It is a little bit too light. However, the color closer to my skin tone was the wrong undertone. Long story short, I prefer this over the Benefit Boi-ing Concealer!

-Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth Foundation (315 Soft Honey): Spoiler alert: This is my second bottle of this foundation. I loved it that much after I finished the first one. Also, if you have the original Maybelline Fit Me, now it is repackaged as the Dewy & Smooth formula. Like the name, this foundation is a dewy finish that goes on so smooth and natural looking. Most of the time, my skin tends to be really dry so I love this foundation for me. If you have oily skin, I really wouldn't recommend this formula. (By the way, I always get compliments on how natural and pretty my makeup is when I wear this foundation!)

-Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (Transparent): This powder will not keep you matte all day. In fact, this powder only claims to keep you matte for 5 hours. Like I previously said, I have dry skin. However, I prefer really like the matte look. I normally use this powder to set the above products because at this point I normally have the coverage that I want. Throughout the day, the dewy foundation will break through this matte powder to make it actually look like my skin. <3 This is definitely why I love foundation routine!

-NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder (Sunny): I love this product so much. It's my favorite matte bronzer. (For reference: My favorite shimmery bronzer comes from the ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia.) The NYC bronzer is actually really close to my skin tone. However, when I build it up a little bit, it gives a nice, natural contour. I prefer natural contours on me so this product is something that I will continue to repurchase in the future.

-NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder (Translucent): I know this technically a face product, but I use it everyday on my eyes. If you've watched my YouTube videos, you've probably heard me say this so much. I have oily eyelids. Therefore, every base or primer creases on me. Therefore, I have to mattify my eyelids before applying a base. However, after that step, every base ends up working for me :) I have a love/hate relationship with doing this step. I love that it works, but I hate having to do an extra step.

-ELF Smudge Pot (Brownie Points): This is one of the cheapest eyeshadow bases that I've ever used and it works amazingly. It goes on nice and smooth. It's pigmented enough to where it doesn't go on splotchy. The color is just gorgeous. It's like that perfect golden-bronze color. (For reference: It is darker than the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.) I love/ loved both of this cream eyeshadow, but I honestly don't feel like it is necessary to own both of them simultaneously.

-Jane Eyeshadow in Cafe: (This is actually the an eyeshadow duo in 03 Cafe/Champagne. I actually dropped this and the champagne shade shattered and fell out, so I'm just referring to the Cafe shade.) Remember when Jane existed as a makeup brand, got discontinued, and released again? Yeah, this is from when they existed the first time... I absolutely love this shadow. It looks so beautiful either just in the crease or a one eyeshadow look. It pairs perfectly with the ELF Smudge Pot. I honestly wish I could find this eyeshadow again, because I'm going to miss this so much when it's gone.
-Profusion B.B. Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm (Peach): These are the supposed to be dupe for the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms. I think I'm going to do a full on review on this blog about the Profusion ones. However, this one has been my favorite lately. I love the moisture that it gives my lips. It's a tad bit tinted but not too much. It literally goes with any eyeshadow look imaginable. It smells amazing and it's easy to just throw in your purse and take with you throughout the day.

-NYX Butter Gloss (Madeline): This is essentially my perfect nude lip gloss. It smells amazing. It's one of those smooth lip glosses. It's not sticky like some lip glosses out there. Essentially, this is always in my purse for touch-ups. If you're about my skin tone and you're looking for more of a pinky nude in the butter glosses, try the NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. :)

Hey guys! This blog post is going to be about my beauty goals for 2015. I have seen so many of these videos floating around YouTube and decided to make my own beauty goals known for the year. I also thought that if I put these in a blog post, it would be easier to refer to. Without further ado, let's get started.

1. Downsize my makeup collection. I recently took a good look at my collection and decided that I wanted to have a collection that I actually use. There are so many products that I own that I haven't touched in months. I want to downsize my makeup collection to the point where I legitimately use everything that I own. I plan on decluttering and project panning to achieve this goal. If you haven't seen my first project pan intro for 2015, then click here.

2. Downsize all my "collections." Not only do I want to downsize my makeup collection, I also want to move some body lotions/fragrances/nail polishes etc. out of my collection. I do have a nail polish declutter video that will be posted soon so make sure you're subscribed to my YouTube channel so you don't miss it! I'm also working on downsizing my clothing, jewelry, and shoes to only the items that I love and will actually wear.

3. Wear every nail polish in my nail polish collection this year. In actuality, my nail polish declutter video has already been filmed and edited. While editing it, I cringed every single time I mentioned that I had not tried a polish. In order to make sure that every polish is used, I made an Excel spreadsheet and I will put an "x" by every polish that I use throughout the year.

4. Monitor my spending for makeup and nail polish purchases. I have already started an Excel spreadsheet to monitor this. I didn't put myself on a beauty budget this year, because I figured that I needed to monitor my spending before setting a budget.

5. Completely pan my palette. In today's video (that was actually filmed December 28th), I spontaneously decided to pan a palette that contains 32 eyeshadows. That basically means that I need to aim to use up 3 shadows a month. Wish me luck!

6. Experiment with my makeup. I tend to play it safe when it comes to my makeup. I want to experiment more, to try techniques I normally don't use, to wear more colorful eyeshadow looks, and also to wear my bold lipsticks in real life and not just on YouTube.

I will try to remember to do quarterly updates on my beauty goals to make sure that I am actually sticking to them.  I think that's it for this blog post, so thanks for reading! XOXO
